I read Robyn's post to your students defending my therapy technique. While it sickens me that the video from my intruder was shared, I can't control that, and I thought you deserved a more personal explanation. I know what it must look like.
I was hesitant at first, but I can't deny that I'm feeling better than I thought possible after everything that's happened. It might sound silly, but having a world you can control, even it's made out of plastic, can be incredibly gratifying after a life that's been controlled. I'm sure you can understand that.
More than this, it has helped me to unlock stretches of my past I had forgotten, either by choice or sheer trauma. There's certainly a lot that I wouldn't care to remember, but I can't selfishly hoard those experiences anymore. I've stayed in my doll house too long.
I know you expressed reservations when Robyn suggested I visit - and I completely understand why-- but for both of our sakes, I beg you to reconsider.
